It is my pleasure to present the third title in the series of Grammaticus Free Library ebooks. After โThe Snowโ by Hugh Walpole and โA Morning Walkโ by Kate Chopin, you can now download Sarah Orne Jewettโs short story โA White Heronโ, first published in 1886.
Typical of Orne Jewettโs regionalist approach to writing, the story is set in the Maine countryside. It explores themes that are now more relevant than ever: the main characterโs heartwarming relationship with nature, the animal world and its beauty provides a lesson to us all.
As with the previous titles, the ebook contains vocabulary notes intended for English language learners.
