About

This website’s been set up as a resource for anyone interested in various but interconnected topics, such as language, literature, culture, and education. Here you’ll find learning tips, book reviews and other articles of interest – mostly in English, but also in South Slavic languages.

My name is Nenad Knezevic, I’m a freelance language coach, translator, and independent researcher. I’ve been working as an educator for over twenty years, teaching English, Latin, and Classical Greek in language schools and as a private tutor. I hold graduate degrees in Classics and Cultural Studies.

I’ve authored a number of academic papers within the fields of cultural history and gender studies, published in peer-reviewed journals and other publications. You can find more information on these and my other activities in the official CV.

This Latin term comes from the Greek word γραμματικός [grammatikos], ultimately stemming from the word γράμμα [gramma] – a letter. In classical antiquity and medieval times it denoted a man of learning, a scholar engaged in teaching and literary study.
