In this post I am going to share with you a wonderfully simple poem by Joyce Kilmer. Entitled โ€œTreesโ€, the poet uses it to express the majestic nature of these living beings, superior even to artistic creation and intelligence of man.

Latin verb forms used as nouns in English

In this post, Iโ€™ll give a few examples of an unusual feature where a particular Latin verb form (typically that of the 3rd person singular) has been adopted into English as a noun. Most of these nouns are very common and you might not even be aware of their origin!
