Iโm happy to present the twelfth title in my series of e-books designed for English language learners (and everyone who enjoys a good short story). This one contains a non-fiction story โMy Herbariumโ by Anne Wales Abbot (1808-1908), originally published in her collection of prose and poetry works entitled "Autumn Leaves."
The plot revolves around a mother, Anna, who returns to her mysterious hometown of Curon with her teenage twins, Daria and Mauro, after 17 years of absence. As soon as they arrive, strange and unsettling events begin to unfold, deeply connected to the town's troubled past.
In her poem โSeptemberโ, the American poet Helen Hunt Jackson (1830-1885) celebrates the gorgeous month that provides us with the best of two seasons.
